WWII German Army Sonderführer Officer Visor Cap- This was for an army sonderführer which was a specialist role used for many purposes including propaganda work, medical service, veterinary service etc. These assignments were filled from NCO through senior officer ranks. Sonderführer were used not only in Wehrmacht and Waffen-SS, but also in other Nazi-organisation, e.g. in the Organisation Todt, Reichsarbeitsdienst, etc. This one of course is for an army officer. The field grey wool body shows minor discoloration and wear with some minor tracking as well. The owner removed the stiffening rings. There is a nicely pinched peak. The insignia is a real stand out! It is all very high quality, nickel silver and perfectly matching. The green piping is for administration. The center band is the special grey badge cloth. There is a officer type silver bullion double chin cord. The visor is black vulkanfibre with minor wear and crazing. The underside is orange brown finished with cross hatching. The interior is lined in gold rayon. There is a lot of wear with separation and tearing to the sides of the interior. There is a rhomboid shaped moisture shield that is fully intact. The script reads “Deutsches Erzeugnis” (German Product). There is a paper tag in the name slot. The last name is “Fischer”. The size is noted as 56. The sweatband is ersatz leather, tan in color. Good condition overall!
