WWII German Army Model 1936 Medical Officer Tunic-This is produced in field grey wool. There is some minor discoloration and wear from use. There is one small spot of tracking on the rear upper shoulder. There are two tiny pin holes, one at the bottom of each sleeve. There are four pleated pockets with scalloped flaps. There is a six button closure and all buttons are pebbled metal with a field grey finish. The collar is dark green wool. There is a set of officer tabs of toned silver bullion with bright silver flat wire highlights. There are blue stripes in the columns and the backing is dark green badge cloth. They are hand applied to the collar. The shoulder straps are the slip on type. They are produced in matte silver flat wire with blue badge cloth underlay. There are two gilt finished metal pips on each as well as a Mercurian staff, indicating this is for a medical hauptmann, or captain. The breast eagle is the officer type in silver bullion with bright silver flat wire highlights. This is over a dark green wool backing and has been hand applied to the tunic. This is an original enlisted mans tunic that has been upgraded to an officer. The interior is partially lined in green rayon which has some minor wear and discoloration. There is a bandage pocket and a strap with a plated metal clip for an edged weapon. The slot is in place as well. The right closure seam has bold, black ink stamps with the size information. It is a chest size 100 so a large size. The bandage pocket is stamped "R. Betr. N." inside a box.
