WWII German Army Infantry Officer Upgrade Visor Cap-We believe that this was upgraded to an officer cap “back in the day”. The soft, light field grey wool body is excellent with very minor wear only. The white piping is lightly discolored with a small spot of wear in the front peak area. The dark green badge cloth center band has a few very minor spots of tracking. The insignia is all bullion. It is definitely hand applied and based on the fact that this was originally an EM cap, reapplied but we think it is a wartime upgrade. The same goes for the officer bullion double chincord that is held in place by a pair of silver finished pebbled metal buttons. There is a shiny black vulkanfibre visor. There is very minor crazing only. The underside is orange brown and crosshatched. The interior is EM all the way, The top panel is lined in orange brown oil cloth. The sides are unlined. There is a rhomboid shaped moisture shield with the maker info that reads “Josef Stadler, Lenngries (Obb.)”. There is a paper tag inside the slot with the name “A. Hirmer”. The sweatband is ersatz leather, orange brown in color. There is significant wear to the front, obviously from use. It is a size 57. Good condition overall!
