WWII German Army General Staff LTC Private Purchase Tunic

WWII German Army General Staff LTC Private Purchase Tunic-This is a very scarce piece! The tunic is a high quality, private purchase example produced in extremely soft field grey wool. There is very minor wear and discoloration from use. There are a few very small stains and one tiny hole in the cuff of the right arm. There is some very minor wear around the dark green badge cloth collar as well. The tunic has four pleated pockets with scalloped flaps. There is a six-button closure; all buttons are green finished pebbled metal. The dark green badge cloth collar tabs are hand applied. They are the special "old Prussian" type litzen with silver metal stripes that are correct for this application. They show minor wear right in line with the rest of the blouse. The sew in shoulder boards are the correct purple badge cloth type with matte grey flat wire braid. Each has a single gilt finished metal pip. These are for the rank of obertsleutnant in the general staff (equivalent to a lieutenant colonel). There is an adjutants aiguillette affixed to the button under the right shoulder board. The officer breast eagle is produced in silver bullion with bright silver highlights. It is dark green wool and neatly hand applied. The colonel was a WWI veteran as noted by his spange and ribbon affixed to the button holes on the blouse. This means he earned the EKII both during the great war and during WWII. The interior is fully lined in green rayon. There is wear, discoloration and some stains to the interior. There is one small, old repair too. There is a single pocket on the left side. Inside is a tailor tag which indicates that this was produced by the firm of Gustav Bender located in Siegen (a city in Germany, in the south Westphalian part of North Rhine-Westphalia). The tag has hand written info which includes the name and rank of the owner plus the date. This is hard to read, but we can tell you the date is 1937. There was a tailor tag in the neck area but it is missing. There is a slot with a strap and plated metal clip for an edged weapon. It is a medium size. Very scarce!

Please note that any "accessories" (i.e. medals, badges, belts etc.) are NOT included unless stated in description!
