WWI Model 1918 Reichswehr Helmet for Bavarian Soldier-This example was recently acquired from the world class collection of Canadian Doug Buhler. This extremely scarce helmet features a field grey finish that remains virtually fully intact. There are a few minor scuffs but the finish is all there. The left side, as worn, has a hand painted white and blue shield for Bavarian personnel. Inside, the original three pad, off white leather liner with steel liner band is in place. It is excellent with minor discoloration only. There is a drawstring and all of the stuffing appears to be present. The rear skirt has an ink stamp which indicates the size is a 64. There is an amazing, maker marked and dated 1918 brown leather chinstrap. The leather remains soft and fully intact. The buckles and snap clip are also present and function as intended. Wow! This one is a beauty!
