WWII German “Westmark Gautag 1939” Tinnie (in Trier); Molded Bakelite- This tinnie is in the shape of an elongated rectangle and measures about 1.75” from top to bottom. It is very lightweight bakelite, with a dark charcoal grey finish and some sort of glossy overlay. The grey varies in darkness, and with faint hints of silvery base color showing through from beneath. The piece is quite handsome, with its alert eagle on a swastika overwatching the Westwall’s dragon’s teeth. The reverse has a vertical pin, which functions fine. The maker’s RZM code “M9/41” appears, with an RZM mark. Fine-looking tinnie.
