This is the most desirable of all the field caps in that rare early green textured cloth material. The double set of grommets have the bakelite coating. All insignia on this cap is REAPPLIED! We feel that the insignia itself are original, but reapplied at some point to the cap. This cap did have a soutache as traces of it are still there. I am calling the pink waffenfarbe of post war manufacture but the eagle and cockade are originals. The cap itself shows only light wear and slight fading. The red cloth liner is maker marked and dated 1941. The lining is a size 56 and shows moderate wear but no damage. Overall very good condition and still a very desirable example of a very early DAK field cap.!
