The Order of the Tiger of India, Second Class-In silvered finished zinc, gilt center, measuring 60.36mm, marked "RUDOLF SOUVAL WIEN VII" on reverse, with original ribbon, in excellent condition. Included is the original, fine quality leatherette case of issue (marked Rudolf Souval, Wien), showing age and slight use/scuffing. The clasp for the case is missing. The Azad Hind decorations were instituted by Subhas Chandra Bose while in Germany, initially for Azad Hind Legion, to be awarded for gallantry in the field of battle. Both Indians and Germans were eligible for these decorations. Later, the same awards were instituted by the Azad Hind government for the Indian National Army during its campaign in South East Asia.
