Spectacular Pre-WWII German Allgemeine and Waffen SS Grouping from One Soldier- Incredible veteran family acquisition which includes not only this enlisted man’s accessories from his time in the Allgemeine SS, but also his time as a high-ranking officer in the Waffen SS. The grouping includes the following: A NAZI Allgemeine SS armband made of wool of multiple piece construction showing light to moderate wear and definitely removed from a tunic. His early Allgemeine SS collar tab with stylized edelweiss from Standarte 87 out of Innsbruck. The grouping also includes an early aluminum Allgemeine/Waffen SS enlisted man’s buckle, which is marked “822/38.” We also have a choice set of visor cap insignia in excellent condition, all properly marked on the reverse. Also included in this grouping are insignia and accessories from the time when he became a high-ranking officer. I’m assuming he transitioned into the Waffen SS, but he may have remained in the Allgemeine SS throughout his career. The insignia includes a beautiful single collar tab with the rank of Oberführer along with the single shoulder strap for the same appropriate rank with a beautiful cloth RZM tag on the reverse. The topper on this one is the original black eye patch worn by this officer along with the aluminum cup which would have held his artificial eye. Where but The Ruptured Duck would you be able to find a grouping such as this? These items along with a full story regarding the GI who brought these things home will be included in Volume IV of my book series. We shall, of course, provide the buyer with not only the name of this veteran, but also the entire story as related to me by his family. This is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity to own an untouched group of this nature.
