RARE eReL "Standard" Model WWII German Army Medical Officer Visor Cap-This is a very scarce cap! It is produced in very soft field grey wool. It is excellent with very slight wear and discoloration only. It has the true "teller" shape to it, very nice! The cornflower blue piping, indicating medical personnel, is fully intact and excellent. There is a dark green badge cloth center band. The eagle is silver finished aluminum and remains very clean. The wreath is silver bullion and the cockade is aluminum. The officer bullion double chin cord is tightly affixed by a pair of nickel silver metal buttons. The shiny black vulkanfibre visor has minor crazing only. The underside is crosshatched and finished in a cream hue. There is some visible wear and discoloration to the underside of the visor. The interior is fully lined in soft gold rayon. It is very clean with a few tiny stains. . There is a rhomboid shaped moisture shield which has maker nomenclature that indicates this was produced by the prestigious "eReL" firm of Berlin. It is the uncommon to see "Standard" model (which was joined by the "Extra" and "Privat" models). The sweatband is oil cloth. It is extremely stiff with cracks, wear, missing material and discoloration. The cap is a size 57. Near excellent and desirable!
