This example has a reissue combat green finish that remains nearly fully intact, checking in at 95%+! Originally a Double Decal example, the reissue includes an Army decal on the left side; this example remains 90% intact. At some point a collector removed the finish from the right side of the helmet, partially revealing the tri-color shield that was covered up during the reissue. The interior is excellent, with a very clean brown leather, size stamped 57 liner that retains a drawstring. There is minimal wear and discoloration to the liner. A cursive capital letter “P” is seen written on the front area of the liner. There is a reinforced aluminum linerband, which is maker marked, size stamped 57 and dated 1938. The side of the interior is stamped “Q 64” indicating production by F.W.Quist of Esslingen in the size of 64. The rear of the skirt is stamped with the steel lot number of 1882, indicating production some time in 1938. There is a very clean dome stamp as well, this is dated 1939. An excellent, brown leather chinstrap with aluminum fitting is also included. A great example of this type!
