WWII German Machine Woven (BeVo) Waffen-SS Enlisted Man’s Cufftitle -The 18.SS-Freiwilligen-Panzergrenadier-Division “Horst Wessel” was comprised mostly of “Volksdeutsche” (ethnic Germans). The approximate 19” long cufftitle is machine woven (BeVo) in pale grey thread with one grey border stripe along the top and at the bottom. The letters are very clear. The band material is quite thin and as usual with BeVo weaving, the title lettering is totally flat. The reverse of the band has the correct salt and pepper pattern (clearly a BeVo Wuppertal weave), with the Division name as a negative image (black). Each end of the band has very light fraying to the edges, but otherwise the title is outstanding. A scarce piece of very desirable SS cloth!
