This round rating (specialty) patch came right off a sleeve and the attachment threads are still present all around it. The insignia shows two crossed feather pens, which identified the sailor’s career field as that of a scribe (clerical work). The yellow gold thread is a bit soiled, giving it a much duskier look – oddly enough, this makes it look more like toned bullion, although it isn’t! The navy blue wool/felt backing has some very minor tracking. A real nice piece, with a diameter of about 2.25”.
