WWII Japanese Binoculars Nice pair of “7 X 50” service binoculars. The binoculars are quite good condition – the optics are sound and overall clear, with a reticle visible in the right lens. They stand nearly 7” high. The black leatherette surface covering the lens barrels is nearly 100% intact, though there’s a narrow gap line along the outer section on one drum. There is some minor dust build-up. The semi gloss black paint on the brass drum base caps has a few scratches; there is some flaking of the paint from around the metal lens rims. The bakelite eye lens focus adjustment rings turns, though the response is a tad sluggish. The back plate is well marked and notes a model number of “2255”. The right side base plate is marked with the lens resolution power “7X50” and a number “7.1”. It’s upper edge has a very slight beveled dent! A very nice set, overall!
