This interesting finial is in the form of an upright bayonet. It is produced in aluminum which has some minor discoloration, a few faint scratches and nicks. At the base there is a long oval shaft with two countersunk, threaded holes for mounting. The “crossguard” is RZM stamped along with the code M3/46 followed by the year of production, ’37. It comes with a nicely crafted modern wooden base. There are many early parade photos showing this style pole top in use. Overall near excellent condition!
