German WWII First Model RLB Officer’s Dagger by Weyersberg- Let me start off by saying this is the finest example I have ever encountered. The piece is absolutely untouched and uncleaned, and shows wonderful aged patina to the nickel silver fittings throughout. Other than very minor scuffs, the blue Moroccan leather on both the handle and the scabbard is in flawless condition. The stylized first type RLB starburst grip insignia is just slightly loose but not going anywhere. Incredibly, the vast majority of the blue enamel lettering is still intact. Once again, let me emphasize that this has never been cleaned, so the exterior fittings show a beautiful 80-year-old patina. The blade has beautiful factory cross graining, and certainly rates excellent, and would probably clean up even better than that. The blue pebbled leather buffer under the cross guard is in place. This gem is complete with its short black leather hanger with solid nickel fittings. I believe this is one of the finest examples on the market today.
