German Golden Grade with Oak Leaves Tyrolean Shooting Badge for "Wehrmann (Rifleman) 1944- District Championship award for shooting with a rifle at the Tyrolian Gau level competition held in 1944. This is a later war, painted example. This metal badge measures just over 1 ½ inches (38mm) in diameter and has a gilt finish. The eagle, wreath and script is painted instead of enameled and has bright clear colors. The script at the bottom reads " Wehrmann 1944". This badge would be awarded to the winner of the competition in the rifle shooting category. These badges could be worn on the lapel of the jacket but also interestingly they could also be worn on cap band of the traditional Tirolian Mountain hat. The pin on the reverse works fine. There is a spot of finish missing on the reverse. Overall, this is in good condition!
