This heavy buckle is produced in brass with a natural finish. The shield on toe obverse has a lion with a state shield on its chest. The field is plain. The reverse has a round, brass rod which serves as the catch and a brass roll bar and prongs. There is some minor verdigris on the reverse. Heavy construction. Thanks to Phil we now know it's a WWII Czech Legion Belt Buckle issued to the Svobodas troops, (possibly 1st reg't - named after Ludvík Svoboda). Near excellent!
