Army DAK Model 1942 Tropical Tunic and Short Set for Motorcycle Recon Enlisted Man-This is an extremely desirable set! These were purchased together directly from one of my pickers at a hotel buy. The US Army veteran he purchased them from was a quartermaster and brought these home. He said he got them in North Africa. I don't often make a statement like this unless I am certain of the source. The tunic is produced is olive brown ribbed heavy duty cloth that has minor discoloration only. There is a five button closure and all of the buttons are field grey finished pebbled metal. There are four pockets with scalloped flaps. The collar has a set of machine applied, "generic machine woven grey collar tabs with tropical tan stripes. The slip on shoulder straps are dark green wool with the distinct brown piping of motorcycle reconnaissance personnel. The breast eagle is machine applied too. It is machine woven (BeVo) in tropical tan cloth and the eagle is light grey. The interior is unlined and has the single bandage pocket on the lower right side. There are markings (faint) on the closure seam with size info and the year of production, '42. It is a size small. The shorts are produced in material that is extremely similar to that of the tunic (only very slightly darker). They are excellent with slight discoloration only. There are slash type hip pockets, a single rear pocket and a watch pocket with a metal ring just above. There is a four button fly with two additional buttons at the waist. There is a built in, tropical tan ribbed waist belt which has a tropical tan metal claw buckle. Inside, the pocket bags and waist reinforcement are white cloth. Both of the snaps are rusty and one has come loose. There are lots of markings including size info, the year of production, '42 and "D.K.W.". The waist is a size 30.  As with all of our tunics, the belt and badges shown are not included unless specifically listed in the description.  This is as good as it gets for tropical collectors!

Please note that any "accessories" (i.e. medals, badges, belts etc.) are NOT included unless stated in description!
