German Anniversary pin commemorating 100 years for the Hambacher Schloss (Hambacher Castle). This is a solid backed little badge with an eagle (wings folded). A castle is depicted superimposed on the eagle’s lower half. At the bottom is the inscription “HAMBACHER SCHLOSS”. At the top left, within the eagle’s upper wing, appears “1832” on the left, and “1932” on the right. The pin’s original silver finish is gone, but the base metal is nicely toned, with traces of the original silver in the recesses. It has a knurled needle pin, which has a wrinkle near the top (where once it was bent). Nice example.
