1970's vintage East German Labor Movement Kampfgruppe Flag-This is complete with streamers and a finial. It is in beautiful condition. The flag itself is produced in smooth, dark red bunting. It is super clean. The flag is two sided. Each side has a large central insignia which is a rifle being held by an arm with a red flag tied to the rifle. This is over a green background. Script around this reads "Für den Schutz der Arbeiter-und-Bauern-Macht" which translates to "for the protection of workers and farmers". This is also surrounded by an oak leaf wreath. Each top left corner reads "166 Kampfgruppen-Hundertschaft Dresden". The flag has a frill around all but the hoist end. The hoist end is folded over for a pole. This set includes four different streamers tied to a shiny and heavy metal finial. Three of the streamers are red rayon. One of these reads "Beste Einheit" for "best unit". Another has a round copper patch with the script " Für Hervorragende Kampf-und Einsatzbereitschaft" or " For Outstanding Combat and Readiness" with the date 07.10.1973. The other reads " Für Ausgezeichnete Leistungen" or "For excellent performances" with the same date. The last one, in green rayon, simply has the date 7.Oktober 1973. Each of these has a silvery frill just like that on the flag. The finial has a compass with the initials "DDR". It is in fantastic condition just like the flag and streamers. The flag measures 5' 3" by 3' 7" including the fringe. Great condition and impressive looking!
