WWII German Model 1940 Army Infantry NCO Combat Tunic-This great example is produced in field grey wool. It is very clean. There is some very minor tracking in a few spots plus on tiny repair to the right rear shoulder area and another to the right lower front. There are four pleated pockets with scalloped flaps. There is a five-button closure, all buttons are field grey finished pebbled metal. The collar is upgraded to dark green wool. There is silver NCO tresse at the front and lower edges. There are machine woven, hand applied infantry striped collar tabs over dark green badge cloth. There are slip on shoulder boards. They are produced in dark green badge cloth and are the early style with pointed tips. There is NCO tresse at all but the end. There were ciphers (number 38) but these are missing. The breast eagle has been hand applied. You can clearly see that another eagle was once there, the current one is reapplied. It is machine woven in light grey cloth over green cloth. There is an additional backing of dark green. There are ribbons for the Russian Front medal and EKII. There is also a Krim shield on the left sleeve. All of the insignia is original but collector applied to this uniform. The interior is partially lined in greenish tan cloth. It is very clean. There are ink stamps for the sizes and the date, listed as B 40. It is a size medium (96). Very good condition!
