WWII German Kriegsmarine Leather Wrapper-This is produced in black leather that remains extremely soft and supple. There is some minor wear and fading from use. There is an embossed eagle with large capital “M” on the front of the jacket, covered when the wrapper is buttoned up. Speaking of the button, there are two rows of five black bakelite buttons for the closure. There is a lay down collar and lapel plus buttoned cuffs. The armpits are vented. The interior is unlined. There is a large cheese cloth pocket with a vertical slot. This is nicely stamped with manufacture and maker data. The date of manufacture is 1944. It measures 17” across the chest (armpit to armpit). The sleeves are 22” long, measured from the top of the shoulder seam to the end of the cuff. The overall length is just over 25”. These were also seen in use by SS personnel. A great piece!
