WWII German Army Special Service Officer (TSD) Private Purchase Tunic-This is a model 1936 type, privately purchased. It is produced in very nice quality ribbed green wool that is excellent. There is a six button closure and all buttons are green finished pebbled metal. There are four pleated pockets with scalloped flaps. There is a dark green badge cloth collar. The collar tabs are the officer type in silver bullion over dark green badge cloth. The litzen is blue. The sew in shoulder boards have matte grey flat wire over blue badge cloth with a gilt Mercurian staff. This is for truppensonderdienst, or TSD which is a special service officer of the administration. In this case it is for a 2nd lieutenant rank which was known as "zahlmeister". The hand applied breast eagle is produced in silver bullion with bright silver flat wire highlights over dark green badge cloth. There are loops for two awards on the left side. There are also loops for a medium sized ribbon bar. The interior is fully lined in grey rayon. There is very minor discoloration from use. There is a pocket on the left side with a tailor tag just below it. The tailor is Karl Fahrner of Esslingen. There is a strap and slot for an edged weapon. It is a large size. Excellent!
