WWII Japanese Naval Landing Forces Helmet w/Cover-This is a great find! Let’s start with the cover, which is produced in tan cloth. There is minor discoloration and wear only. The tie string is present. The interior is white cloth with some staining. There are lots of ink stamps on the interior. The front has a machine woven, hand applied patch in gold over green. This has the wreath, anchor and chrysanthemum for a petty officer rank. The shell has an olive brown finish that remains 85% intact. The anchor/chrysanthemum insignia, in metal and again for a petty officer rank, is excellent and tightly affixed. The interior has a simple, three pad liner of brown leather. There is minor discoloration and wear. There is a drawstring and a leather liner band. The band is separated at the back but still remains tightly affixed inside the shell. A very scarce and desirable helmet and cover!
