WWII German Model 1942 SS Combat Helmet, "Reverse" Double Decal for Foreign Volunteers-This is an extremely scarce helmet and what a price! The finish is field grey and remains 50% intact. As mentioned, it is a reverse decal so the runic shield is on the left side. This is a Pocher produced decal and remains 65% intact. Clearly visible is another decal that this was placed over. The right side has a party shield that remains 50% intact. The reason this example is so reasonably price is because the liner is most likely not original to it. It has a reinforced aluminum and 1938 dated band. There are also a few very minor bends in the band. It is the correct size and an original assembly, just not to this helmet most likely. The liner is a size 54 and has some discoloration and wear from use. The side of the interior is stamped EF 62 indicating production by Emaillerwerke of Fulda in the size of 62. The rear of the skirt is stamped with the steel lot number 2944. There is a partially intact brown leather chinstrap as well. A great opportunity to own a scarce helmet at a fantastic price!
