WWII German Model 1935 Police Reissue Helmet, Originally Double Decal SS-This interesting helmet was originally a double decal SS, then reissued for police use. It features a smooth green finish that remains 70% intact. The left side has an unbordered police decal which is 75% intact. Clearly visible is the edge of another decal. This is also visible where the decal is scratched. The right side has a party shield which is 90% intact. There is a size 55, dark brown leather liner which has some discoloration and wear from use. There is a drawstring and a reinforced aluminum liner band which is dated 1938, maker marked and size stamped 62/55. The liner has clearly been removed and put back in the shell at some point. There are a few small bends in the band which indicate this to us. It is a correct, original liner assembly though (possibly original to the helmet). The side of the interior is stamped ET 62 indicating production by Eisenhuttenwerke in Thale in the size of 62. The rear of the skirt is stamped with the steel lot number 3657 indicating production in 1938. We are throwing in the chinstrap for free as it has a replacement end. It is nearly full length and produced in brown leather. A very good example of an interesting helmet!
