WWII German Luftwaffe Model 1938 Paratrooper SD Camo Helmet-Wow! What a looker! This beauty features a "FJR 6" type camouflage scheme of greens and tan. The camouflage finish remains an amazing 85%intact. We believe the Luftwaffe eagle decal was "liberated", i.e. uncovered, as it shows wear and is basically just the outline. But it is there and looks cool! The size 58 brown leather liner is in fine condition, remaining very soft and supple with minor wear and discoloration only. It is well marked. The maker is Heisler of Berlin. The harness is also beautiful, remaining soft and supple with much of the chamois underlining still in place. There is an aluminum liner band held in place by four spanner type bolts. The off white neoprene pads are present and stiff as they should be after all of these years. The side of the interior is stamped ET 68 indicating production by Eisenhuttenwerke of Thale in the size of 68. The rear skirt is stamped with the steel lot number 1922 indicating production some time in 1942. A fantastic piece!
