WWII German Army Model 1935 Single Decal Reissue Combat Helmet-This example has a rough texture, dark green combat finish that remains a solid 95% intact. You can see and feel the original, smooth green finish underneath where the reissue combat finish is missing. The original decal was retained during the reissue and carefully painted around. It is lightly toned and remains a solid 80% intact. You can clearly see that the tri color shield remains underneath the finish on the right side. The interior features a brown leather, size 55 liner that is in near excellent condition remaining soft and supple with minor wear and discoloration only. There are hand written initials, "R.Z." in ink on the liner. There is a drawstring and a reinforced aluminum liner band that is maker marked, dated 1939 and size stamped 62/55. The side of the interior is stamped E.F. 62 indicating production by Emaillerwerke of Fulda in the size of 62. The rear skirt is stamped with the steel lot number 210(?)5. There is a brown leather chinstrap that is maker marked and dated 1939. It has aluminum fittings and is in great condition. A great piece!
