Choice WWII US M-1 Helmet, Named to a Lieutenant-This outstanding example retains literally 99.9% of the rough texture green combat finish. It is a fixed bale, front seam example. Inside of the shell, in large cursive script, is “LT. C.F. Garlatz”. The OD3 canvas strap has an ink stamped name, different from what is written in the shell. It is Ralph J. Geduldig and the ASN number is 31406861. Research indicates he lived in Bridgeport, CT and was a police officer and later a detective. He enlisted on 11-10-43 in New Haven, CT. The shell is produced by McCord. I cannot read the stamp number. The liner is literally as new. Inside, there is ever so slight wear only. It is produced by International Molded Plastics (IMP) featuring the iconic logo. The suspension is OD 3 HBT and excellent. The maker marked headband is a size large. There are black finished triangular washers. The brown leather chinstrap is in fantastic condition. This is a beauty!
