WWII German Luftwaffe Honor Goblet-Awarded to Oberleutnant Fritz Eyer-Eyer was formerly Staffelkapitan of 6 Staffel and was awarded this goblet on 1.9.42. He was also a winner of the German Cross in Gold, this on 25.9.42 with III/Stuka-Geschwader 3. Yes, he was actually a Stuka pilot! He was also Gruppenkommandeur of III. Gruppe Schlachtgeschwader 3 from 25.1.45 through 15.2.45. He was presented with the goblet on 28.5.42. The engraving around the bottom reads:
OBERLEUTNANT FRITZ EYER AM 28.5.42.
The underside of the goblet is marked "Feinsilber Alpaka Auflage" as well as JOH.WAGNER & SOHN (manufacturer). There are definitely signs of toning and minor wear. It has not been cleaned and we recommend leaving it that way. There are a few minor bends in the base as is common on these goblets. There is a small ding in the side of the goblet. One interesting addition is a Russian Front medal with its ribbon glued to the inside of the goblet. This was quite possibly done by Eyer but who knows. Very nice and for a pilot making it extremely desirable!
