WWI US Air Service Enlisted Man's Uniform Grouping-This includes a tunic, breeches and a side cap for an aviation mechanic of the 317th Aero Squadron. The tunic is produced in olive brown wool that is in exceptionally nice condition. There is one extremely small hole in one pocket and some extremely light wear, that is all. It is very clean. There are four pockets with scalloped flaps. There is a five-button closure and an additional hook and loop closure at the bottom. The collar discs are the U.S. and the aviation examples. The right sleeve is blue felt with a four-blade propeller of white cloth. This is encircled in white cloth. The number 317 is seen in white cloth above. This all indicates that the wearer was an aviation mechanic with the 317th Aero Squadron. The left lower sleeve has a single overseas stripe. There is a small ribbon bar. The interior is fully lined in olive brown rayon that is excellent. There is a New York Quarter Master tag dated 1917. It is a size medium. The side cap is produced in the same olive brown wool, just a slightly different shade. There is a U.S. disc. The top is sewn together and the interior is lined in black rayon. It is excellent. The breeches match the tunic beautifully. They are excellent with a few very small stains. The maker tag indicates they were produced by Abr. Bauman of New York. The contract date is 1918. The waist is a size 29 and they are 33" in length. Overall excellent condition!

Please note that any "accessories" (i.e. medals, badges, belts etc.) are NOT included unless stated in description!
