WWII (we believe) US Navy Officer Blue Visor Cap, Named-This is produced in dark blue wool that is in excellent condition. There is a black ribbed cloth center band. The navy insignia is beautiful, all done in bullion over dark blue wool. The chin strap is gold tresse. The visor is black patent leather with minor crazing. The interior is fully lined in rayon, black on top and gold on the sides. There is a large heavy cloth patch in the top panel which has a square moisture shield. The script reads "Naval Uniform Service" followed by "Under Supervision U.S. Navy". The owner wrote his name in black ink, :Lieut. Hal Burke". The perforated brown leather sweatband is complete but detached about 2/3rds of the circumference of the cap. There is a grey cloth cap cover included as well. Very good condition!
