WWII German Schutzpolizei Officer Tschako-The black leather trim, visors and black top cover identify this as Municipal (including National) Police. The tschako has the standard exterior in tight, Police green wool/felt over the fiber helmet shell. There is some minor discoloration and wear but nothing overly distracting. The upper sides have the two large ventilation holes with mesh screens. The metal eagle is a very crisp, highly detailed two-piece officer version that retains 90% of its original silver finish. The removable cockade is also an officer version in bright silver metal with black trim and a red felt center section. The black trim shows the usual age crazing, and the visors are in good condition, remaining tightly affixed with just slight fading. The scaled metal officer chinstrap is very handsome, with toning to give it a great look. The interior has a brown leather sweatband that is super clean and soft. The light brown cloth, two-piece liner that is super clean as well. There is a manufacturers label on the top of the dome, identifying the maker as eReL (says eReL Tschako). The cap is a size 58. A near excellent example of this type!
