WWII German RMBO (Reichsministerium) Inspector Visor Cap-This was for a Reichs Ministry Inspector and is an extremely rare offering! The body is produced in light brown wool. There is some very minor tracking and wear. There are no holes and it is very clean. The wearer removed the stiffening rings so it is very flexible, like a crusher. The top panel and upper and lower edges of the dark green badge cloth center band are piped in silver mesh piping. The unique eagle is produced in silver metallic flat wire over light brown badge cloth. The cockade and wreath are beautiful. The wreath is all bullion with bright silver highlights. The silver part of the cockade is also bullion with cloth for the black and red parts. The officer double chin cord is the thicker bullion type. The buttons are matte green pebbled metal. The visor has a few bends in it with some minor crazing. The underside is finished in an orange brown hue. The sides of the interior are lined in orange brown cloth. The upper panel is gold ribbed rayon. There is some wear and discoloration from use. The sweatband is brown leather. It is perforated. It is in fine condition with minor wear and discoloration from use. There is a section at the front which has moderate wear. This spot has separated from the body of the cap but it is not visible unless you fold the sweatband up. The moisture shield is rhomboid shaped. It has some tape holding it to the cap as there is a small section missing. The maker is August Schellenberg. The "Sonderklasse" script is seen as well as the "Stirndruckfrei" script for pressure free forehead. It is a size 55. Extremely scarcely encountered and in overall fine used condition!
