Extremely Early WWII German Army Engineer Other Ranks Visor Cap-This is dated 1935 under the sweatband so extremely early! The beautiful dark field grey trikot weave body is excellent, with only extremely minor wear. The black pioniere piping is also excellent. The center band is the same color as the body. The insignia is all tombak and is the early style, small eagle, stylized wreath and smaller cockade with red felt bulls eye. There is a black patent leather chinstrap that has minor wear only. The black vulkanfibre visor is in fine condition, minor fading only. The underside of the visor is crosshatched and finished in the often seen orange brown hue. The interior is lined in orange brown cloth. The size is stamped 55 under the clear, rhomboid shaped moisture shield. The sweatband is ersatz leather, orange brown in color and profusely stamped underneath. This includes the maker info, Clemens Wagner, Braunschweig followed by the date of production, 1935. It also includes issue information that reads 26 J…? and 1 Komp. There is also what I believe is distributor information. This is a fantastic and desirable example!
