WWII German Luftwaffe Model 1938 DAK Camouflage Paratrooper Helmet-This one checks a lot of boxes! The DAK camouflage finish is the pink hued tan that we look for. The finish remains 70% or more intact. The Luftwaffe decal we believe was “liberated” from under the camouflage finish. The interior features a soft brown leather liner, size stamped 57, which has minor wear and discoloration from use. There is some minor scuffing as well. It is also stamped with the shell size and the maker info, Heisler. The liner band and original spanner bolts are present. The charcoal colored neoprene pads are present and a bit stiff as to be expected. The war time brown leather harness is in fine condition, just showing some wear as expected. The side of the interior is stamped ET 68 indicating production by Eisenhuttenwerke in Thale in the size of 68. The rear skirt is stamped with the steel lot number 77 indicating production sometime in late 1940 or early 1941. A fantastic, desirable piece!
