WWII Japanese Special Naval Landing Force Signal Light-A paper tag added to this item says it was captured on New Georgia in the Solomon Islands in 1943. It is in a rigid case that originally was tan but is now painted (camouflaged) white. The case measures almost 6 inches tall by 5 inches across and 2 1/2 inches wide. There is a crank handle and a canvas strap. The case has a tan leather closure strap that shows some wear (eyelet torn). Inside is a metal hand held lamp that is also painted white. This is still attached to its original cord. It is also attached to the original power source. There are a few tools and an extra bulb as well. This quite possibly still works but we have not tested it. An interesting and scarce item!
