WWII German Luftwaffe Model 1935 Double Decal Helmet-This example has a darker, smooth blue grey finish that remains a solid 80% intact. There is a small ding in the right-side rear of the shell. The finish is missing from the rivets, a common thing to see. The left side has a standard Luftwaffe eagle decal that remains 85% intact. The tri color shield checks in about the same. The size stamped 57, light brown leather liner is in very good condition, remaining very soft and supple with just minor wear and discoloration from use. There is a reinforced aluminum liner band that is maker marked, dated 1939 and size stamped 64/57. There is an original drawstring as well. The side of the interior is stamped Q64 indicating production by Quist of Esslingen in the size of 64. The rear skirt is stamped with the steel lot number 3173. The chinstrap is dark brown leather. It is complete with steel hardware. It is a bit stiff as it looks like it was treated at some point. A fine example overall!
