U-063 Rare, Combat Worn, Luftwaffe Paratrooper
Jump Smock
If you need mint, you’re not going to find it in this smock! If
you want original, honest, salty, combat worn, then this should be right up your
alley. This is a very special tan and water pattern camouflage smock. It's made
of a slightly lighter textured cloth material. If you hold the smock up to the
light, you can actually see through it. The colors are somewhat worn but still
vibrant. I do not know the exact camouflage pattern, other than it's the 1944
vintage tan and water. There is a lot of wear and repairs to the right
shoulder area. I suspect the wear and damage was caused by heavy equipment and
rain pelting down on this area. The repairs are done with period cotton
thread, but I believe this was "collector-done". There is wear and
some tears in the collar area. There is some fading and wear on the flaps of the
front pockets. This is all as a result of use by the original owner. I love this
look!! The gorgeous breast eagle is a treasure in itself. It is the rare
machine embroidered green eagle on the textured green background, beautifully
zig-zag stitched and unquestionably original to the piece. All the
heavy stainless steel zippers are present and appear to function. The pulls are
marked “RAPID” and the leather tabs are present. All the dark grey aluminum
dish buttons are accounted for. The same goes for all of the snaps. The female
portion of the snaps are marked “P R Y M 6”. The interior is
textbook and size marked marked (II b), RBnr'd (RB. Nr. 0/1337/0015) and dated
October 1944 (X 44). What more can I say? Let's let the photos do the rest
of the talking!
