S-100 Hand Signed 4” by 5.75” Postcard Photograph of Grand
Admiral Karl Dönitz
This spectacular black and white wartime photograph of Großadmiral Karl Dönitz
portrays him in full dress uniform and greatcoat. This was taken post April
1943, given that he also dons his Knight’s Cross with Oak Leaves (he was
awarded the Knight’s Cross on April 21, 1940 and the Oak Leaves on April 6,
1943). The condition of the photo is fabulous, with crisp corners and edges and
no creases or wear at all! As was common, it has a postcard like reverse.
The signature, which is in blue ink, is simply his last name, he then dated the
photo 20.11.71 (November 20, 1971). A fine example overall!
