Japanese WWII NCO Samurai Sword-This measures approx. 38” in length and is a textbook machine-made example. The steel handle is painted to simulate the cloth wrap and the shark skin covering on the handle. There are chrysanthemums on both sides of the handle. It has a solid brass cross guard/tsuba. The locking mechanism functions perfectly. This is an unmatched example, which is common. The numbers can be found on the blade and also on the throat of the scabbard. The original olive-green paint on the scabbard is a solid 65%. The blade has nice polish with no nicks but has some discoloration to scattered areas on the blade. Overall, this is in very good condition and would look great in your collection.
