Japanese WWII NCO Samurai Sword-This measures approx. 38” in length and is a textbook machine-made example. The steel handle is painted to simulate the cloth wrap and the shark skin covering on the handle. There are chrysanthemums on both sides of the handle. It has a solid brass cross guard/tsuba. The locking mechanism functions perfectly. This is an unmatched example, which is common. The numbers can be found on the blade and also on the throat of the scabbard. The original olive-green paint on the scabbard is a solid 70%. It does show a few scuffs but overall, is very good. The blade has nice polish with a few nicks and some discoloration to scattered areas on the blade that could be removed. Overall, this is very appealing, and in very good condition.
